The lack of non-renewable resources such as oil energy, the greenhouse effect and tail gas emissions have made serious environmental pollution, thus it has been a major concern for the global society. In order to reduce our dependence on oil energy and protect the atmospheric environment, new energy has drawn global attention. Accordingly, the new energy vehicles which need no oil and produce no polluted emissions have returned to our vision. Electric vehicle (EV) is one of them. To resolve its battery charging and discharging problem high-performance power conversion devices have been produced, and scholars are doing more and more in-depth research.This topic is based on the above research background and mainly studies one high-performance three-phase voltage-type rectifier. It utilizes three-level SVPWM modulation technique, double closed-loop (inner current loop and outer voltage loop) control strategy, and pure sinusoidal waveforms can be achieved in ac current with a unity power factor, thus reduce the pollution of the grid and meanwhile output small DC voltage ripple and high-quality output characteristics.This paper studies two ways to achieve the three-level SVPWM strategy, and a simplified SVPWM algorithm with detail analysis and calculation; studies on neutral point potential problems from various aspects, and proposes a method which can be easily implemented by computers; analyses double closed-loop control method of three-level rectifier, and complete the design of the controller; obtains parameters of the main circuit through the analyzing of main circuit, completes the design of main circuit devices, cooling system and control circuits, builds an experimental platform. The paper makes a simulation study of three-level rectifier by using MATLAB. It verifies the feasibility of algorithm and the good performance of system and summarizes the conclusion of the simulation, which is very important for both theoretical research and practical applications.
