With the rapid development of our high-speed railway and the increasing number of the EMU trains that are putting into operation, the requirements toward the performance and reliability of the train bogies are becoming higher and higher. Therefore, how the maintenance task of the bogies adapts the new situation is becoming an urgent problem to be solved. In this paper, based on the Re liability-Centered Maintenance theory and the failure statistics data of the CRH2train bogies that has been running for several years in EMU of South Shanghai Station, the order of each failure criticality is determined by taking the Failure Mode Effect Criticality Analysis. As to some kinds of these failures, this paper puts forward to an optimum wheel turning strategy on the concept of the wheel turning threshold, thus proposes an important basis for the failure research and maintenance method of the key parts of the bogies.Meanwhlie, a maintenance line simulation model is built by using Flexsim based on the result of investigation on the three-level bogies maintenance site in northern China. Through it, the factors that influnce the overhaul maintenance line efficiency during the process are found. The situation of bogies maintenance line is also improved by Systematic Layout Planning and some measures taken to avoid the bottlenecks on maintenance line. As a result, the maintenance line efficiency is obviously improved.Through the calculation and results of model’s operation, it shows that the simulation research of the bogies maintenance line in this paper basically corresponds the actual situation of the maintenance work, so it provides a scientific research method for the maintenance management of the train bogies in the future and possesses good engineering value.
