Lingbao Back-to-Back Converter Station locates in the west part of Henan Power Grid, as well as the northwest side of the Center China Grid, moreover Lingbao is the headend of the West-East electricity transmission project. Lingbao is a joint project of Central China and Northwest China Power Grids, to monitor power quality of the entire converter station. Lingbao Back-to-Back Converter Station is the first DC power transmission project which has independent design, independent manufacture, independent construction, it’s successful operation further expands the scale of the West-East electricity transmission project, moreover lead to the intensive development of the basement of large Northwest coalpower, hydro power and wind power, improve the reliability and the resistance to disturbance of the two major regional power grid, and can achieve the two gateway emergency exchange. In one hand, Lingbao Back-to-Back Converter Station’s economic and social benefits are significant. In the other hand, accumulate necessary experiences for our country’s development on the direct transmission project.In order to grasp the basic operating characteristics of the Lingbao Converter Station, enhance the operation and the analysis ability of the AC and DC transmission, as well as analyze the filtering effect of the converter station filter, provide the basis for harmonicanalysis and governance, it’s necessary to make a analysis about the modeling and simulation of Lingbao converter station. In this paper, we make a model of the Lingbao flow station by the electromagnetic transient simulation software PSCAD/EMTDC, we also simulate the converter station AC system parameters and the DC system parameters and conclude the data of the simulation waveform and measurement, prove the accuracy of the model; we simulate the convection stand when it runs in the buck, take the measures of control theinverter side of the turn-off angle command value to control the DC voltage. It can be seen from the simulation waveforms and data that this method can achieve the desired objectives accurately and flexibly; we analyze the distribution of the harmonic load flow of the converter station to a variety operating state, as a conclusion, to prove that the filter has a good harmonic suppression effect, but under the premise to ensure the level of harmonic interference and loss of controllability, new requirements about the operating voltage range of the step-down was put forward.
