Now motor is the most important one of the assembly, suspension andautomotive aspects are closely related, and is an important factor affecting vehiclehandling and stability. Handling and stability on the car, mostly caused by the vehiclesuspension of performance parameters changed from the kinematics and elastickinematics, so the study have great significance to improve vehicle handling andstability. This paper selects leaf spring rear suspension which is very representativesignificance of the passenger car suspension for the study, for the leaf spring of thisflexible structure, it Establishes simulation model in the finite element software, andverify the accuracy of the model, analysis of the kinematics and elastic kinematicscharacteristics of the leaf spring suspension performance parameters change and theimpact on vehicle performance. Conclusions, can effectively improve the handlingand stability of such passenger cars.In order to study the changes in the suspension parameters for performance ofthe kinematics and elastic kinematics characteristics, the work is as follows:First, on the basis of analysis on the leaf spring suspension structure andcharacteristics, in the Abaqus software, Establish the finite element model of a leafspring rear suspension to study the rational process of finite element modeling. Whichfocused on the finite element mesh methods and quality control techniques.Second, first, through the simulation of different operating conditions, simulationand analysis of the established leaf spring suspension model. Secondly, the use ofincomedata to calculate the suspension kinematic characteristics of the evaluationparameters, through these parameters change and changes in trend to analysis andevaluation of the kinematics and elastic kinematics characteristics of the suspension. Finally, compared with thestandard car, verify the accuracy of the model.Third, in vehicle simulation analysis of the LOTUS software, McPhersonindependent front suspension and leaf spring suspension, the establishment of avehicle simulation model. And vehicle simulation test: steering wheel angle step inputtransient response test and the steady-state rotation test. Analysis of the impact onvehicle handling and stability. The results show:The method of combining the finite element technique withthe vehicle dynamics is very effective during the study leaf spring suspension performance. Compared with using only the established model of vehicle dynamics,This method of established model is more accurate higher simulation accuracy. Inengineering, the methods are very practical.
