High power single piece LED streetlights are potential for the future green lightingsource, because of its excellent advantages, such as energy-conservation,environment-protection and long service-life et al. However, heat dissipation is asubstantial serious problem for the high-power LED. The junction temperature of LEDchip rises sharply, if there is no effective cooling measure to adopt and heataccumulating inside the LED chip can’t be removed. Therefore, the problem of heatdissipation is of extreme important to solve at present. The aim of this thesis is tomodify and improve the traditional structure and the present structure of heat sink willmainly carry out to investigate the heat dissipation for high power single piece LEDstreetlight with the new structures.Firstly, the novel welded structure based on cold gas dynamic spray technology isproposed, and the corresponding thermal analysis is performed in detail. Furthermore,one desirable structure of heat sink is exploited to meet the multiple requirements bydesigning, analyzing and comparing different structure shapes of heat sink for highpower single piece LED streetlights. Meantime, the performance of heat dissipation isstudied on the rated and overloaded operating conditions. Additionally, the heatdissipation of the heat sink with higher power LED is predicted by improving furtherthe structure. Finally, the second light distribution is conducted for the high powersingle piece LED streetlight designed previously in order to attain the excellent variousperformance.To improve the performance of heat dissipation for high power single piece LEDlights, combining the novel soldering technology based on the cold gas dynamic spraywith the newly-type structure of the heat sink proposed in the thesis provides onepowerful and effective route to solve the problem of heat dissipation for high powerLED.
