As an important part of the mechanical systems, the mechanical transmissionequipment is one of the key components to ensure many mechanical equipments workproperly. The degree of automation, systematization, complex, precision of modernmechanical transmission equipment are becoming higher and higher, so it puts forwardhigher requirements for condition online monitoring and fault diagnosis technology ofmechanical transmission equipment. Because of it’s the inconvenience of installation,higher costs, larger noise and lower measurement accuracy, the traditional mechanicaltransmission equipment condition online monitoring systems are difficult to meet therequirements of modern mechanical transmission systems. With the development ofembedded technology, modern electronic technology and wireless communicationtechnology, some problems that are difficult to solve using mechanical means can beresolved by electronic signal processing and communication technologies which have asimpler structure and wider range of applications.Aiming at the lack of the traditional mechanical transmission equipment conditiononline monitoring system, the paper carry out research and development of mechanicaltransmission equipment condition online monitoring systems based on ARM embeddedtechnology. The system uses the method of ratio measurement based on ADC tomeasure data. The sensor is mounted on the required monitoring positon to perceive thestrongest sensor signal caused by the change of local area, thus it greatly improves thecredibility and reliability of the signal. The system uses the RAM microcontrollerLPC1768as the core control device to control the various modules work orderly,instrumentation amplifier AD8221as the signal conditioning device to filter andamplify the voltage signal that is proportional to torque acquired by front sensor,AD7699high performance analog to digital converter as the data sampling device toachieve the sampling of analog signal, NAND FLASH memory chip as the externalmemory to achieve the reliable preservation of large amounts of data, CC1101RF chipas the wireless communication device to achieve the digital modulation, demodulationand wireless transmission of dada. The power control module can reduces the powerconsumption of the system by using software to control power supply of the variouscircuit blocks. Through introducing the embedded real-time operating system uC/OS-IIto schedule the running of each module task, it can realize the functions of analog acquisition and conditioning, A/D conversion, data storage, wireless transmission, aswell as real-time display in the PC.According to the design scheme of the system, we develop the embedded signalacquisition, storage and real-time transmission system with characteristics ofminiaturization, low-power, stong anti-jamming capability, as well as high real-time andreliability, which can transmit collected data in high speed and low bit error rate. It canaccess the torque signal of key rotating parts of mechanical transmission equipment inthe special circumstance in real time. The system has been successfully used in theactual project testing to access the operational status data of mechanical transmissionequipment under various conditions in the industrial site, and achieved good testingeffects.
