With the development of society and economy, the height of the buildingscontinues to increase, the use of high-strength concrete has become a trend. So, as thecombination of the steel and high-strength concrete, steel reinforced high-strengthconcrete composite structure, which overcomes the weakness of poor ductility andsudden destruction of the latter, has broad application prospects. As an important component of the horizontal load resistant system of buildings, shear wall has great lateral stiffness and load bearing capacity that can effectively resistthe earthquake action. Therefore, it is widely used in high-rise buildings and extrahigh-rise buildings. Researches have shown that, the major failure mode of the lowshear wall is brittle shear failure that has poor ductility, poor energy dissipation abilityand sudden destruction under the strong earthquake. The low shear wall’s destructionmay result in suddenly serious damage or even collapse to the building. Thus, how toimprove the seismic behavior of the high-strength concrete low shear wall becomes animportant problem in engineering. The main purpose of this paper is to study the load bearing capacity and the failurefeature of the steel reinforced high-strength concrete low shear wall (SRHCW) withconcealed bracings under low cyclic reversed lateral loading, and to find the methods toimprove the seismic behavior of the high-strength concrete low shear wall. The mainwork and achievements are as follows:Three steel reinforced high-strength concrete low shear wall specimens withdifferent concealed bracings are designed, and the experiments under low cyclicreversed lateral loading are completed.Hysteretic curves of three specimens are analyzed and obtained. The characteristics of ductility, energy dissipation capacity, strength attenuationand so on of three specimens are analyzed.Shear bearing capacity calculation formula of SRHCW with concealed bracings isestablished, and the calculated values, measured values of shear bearing capacity arecompared. Finally, some methods to improve the seismic behavior of the high-strengthconcrete low shear wall are suggested.
