Depand on grand momentum and reasonable structure, Ancient building becomes awonderful structure pattern in history of world architecture. With the development ofscience and technology, ancient building reflected by modern construction materialsbecomes more and more popular, antique architectural grows rapidly in recent years.Because there is no specialized design code on antique architectural, reinforcedconcrete frame codes are refered in antique architectural design. But considering thenotable differences of two structures in architectural requirements, using the reinforcedconcrete frame codes to design antique architectural could produce design conservativeand lots of waste.In this paper, the style, structure and constrction of antique architectural areintroduced, the differeces in mechanical characteristics of antique architectural, ancientbuilding and reinforced concrete frame are analysed. Two models Commonly used indesign institute are emphasis compared on designing antique architectural. Combiningwith the actual project, the two models are used in seimic calculation, and SAP2000isused to compare the results of PKPM and finite element analysis. At the end, someuseful suggestions was put forward to make the model closer to actual projects.Through the structure seimic calculation, the results of two models are bothconservative, but the complete antique architectural model is more closer to actualsituation. Some suggestions are listed about antique architectural seismic calculation,which can provide reference on research and design on antique architectural application.
