The analysis on the stability of surrounding rock cavern group is one of the key technicalproblems in the field of geotechnical engineering. It is of great theoretical significance and ofvital practical value to carry out the analysis on the stability of wind room of undergroundtunnel cavern’s surrounding rock. Based on the underground cavern group of ZhongtiaoMountain from Yuncheng to Lingbao expressway, this essay has investigated on the stabilityof the cavern group’s surrounding rock in the tunnel’s wind room. The main tasks andconclusions are:(1) Studied on the influential factors of surrounding rock’s stability of undergroundcavern group. Factors affecting the stability of underground cavern group have three maincategories: natural geological conditions, engineering design factors and engineeringconstruction factors.(2) Completed the initial support design of each wind cabinet cavern in the undergroundcavern group according to its geological environment and structural characteristics of theunderground cavern group.(3) Established a three-dimensional finite element model relying on the numericalsimulation research on the stability of highway tunnel’s underground cavern group ofZhongtiao Mountain. Analyzed the stress and displacement of the intersection of branchtunnel and the main tunnel as well as the equipment room to determine the scope that needs tobe strengthened, supported and protected. In addition, simulated the construction process ofhighway tunnel’s underground cavern group of Zhongtiao Mountain, and in its process, theinfluence of tunnel’s excavation on the cross-air exhausting duct and the mutual constructioneffect of paralleling cavern was analyzed little when the cross-air exhausting duct and the main tunnel’s intersection was under construction, for the purpose of guiding the constructionof cavern group in the underground wind room.(4) Worked out a construction program of cavern group in the underground wind room,which can be used to guide the on-site construction of Zhongtiao Mountain undergroundtunnel’s wind room.
