Water supply network hydraulic model is very important to better overallunderstanding of the actual operation situation of water supply network, and is theimportant link of water supply system information.It make for the urban water supplynetwork planning, operation management and optimization scheduling. To ensure theaccuracy of the hydraulic model, it need to correction some parameters of the watersupply network hydraulic model, mainly includes the estimate of nodes’ flow and thecalibration of pipe frictional factor. The calibration makes it more accurately simulatethe actual operation condition of water network.At present, the estimate of node flow has been improved, and the calibration ofpipe frictional resistance has been research based on Jinan demonstration area watersupply network hydraulic model. A hydraulic model for water distribution system is used todescribe behaviors of a city water network, which is based on the laboratory simulation platform.The effect of pipe roughness change on the state of the water hydraulic model is analyzed. Wealso get the conclusion that the sensitive coefficients of the nodal pressure to the pipe roughnessare power functions of the flow velocities in the pipes. Therefore the new approach is proposed,which estimates those pipes’ roughness that has the large sensitivity coefficients, and sets the otherpipes’ roughness as those determined by the experience. Because genetic algorithm has goodadaptability and high degree of global optimization and so on, it accurately calibrateall the pipe friction factor of water supply network model based on actualmeasurement to some representative pipe. Combined with the online pressuremonitoring stations in the demonstration area water supply network,and according thepressure data of water department’s database,it analysis and verify the calibrationresults of hydraulic model and achieves good results. It can be seen, the model has ahigh precision and has a strong practical application value.
