China’s railway freight cars widely used three pieces bogies.The side frame as oneof the components bogie plays an extremely important role.If the side frame appearedfatigue fracture in the operation,which will be a serious threat to the safety of trainoperation,therefore,the side frame of the fatigue problem of railway freight industry hasbeen concerned more and more.With the development of heavy load and speed raisingof freight car,the stress of the bogie is getting worse and worse,and raise more slashingrequirement. In order to improve the efficiency of freight cars,the railway ministry putforward the plan that the period of the side frame using from the current25years to35years. In order to ensure the safety of railway transportation, it is necessary to researchfatigue strength reliability of the side frame.At present,China’s railway freight car beganto use K6bogie which is25t axle load and highest running speed of120km/h.Theresearch object in this thesis is the side frame of K6bogie,and this thesis analyzes thestatic strength of it. According to the AAR load spectrum and the Da-Qin load spectrumof the20,000ton heavy load vehicle, this thesis makes use of the nominal stressmethod,the local stress-strain method,the fracture mechanics method to estimate thefatigue life,the crack initiation life and the crack propagation life of the side frame,andcompares the fatigue life (based on the nominal method) with the total of the crackinitiation life and the crack propagation life for quantitative assessment of Zhuan K6bogie side frame line running35years safety reliability.The thesis contains the following contents:1.Establish3D model using PROE software,and analyze the static strength of theside frame using ABAQUS sofrware,and analyze the side frame’s weak part and itsstress distribution.2.According to the AAR load spectrum and the Da-Qin load spectrum of the20,000ton heavy load vehicle,using the nominal stress method to estimate the nominalstress life of side frame and comparing the resuls of the two load spectrum.3.According to the AAR load spectrum and the Da-Qin load spectrum of the20,000ton heavy load vehicle,using the local stress-strain method to estimate the crackinitiation life of side frame.4.According to the AAR load spectrum and the Da-Qin load spectrum of the 20,000ton heavy load vehicle,using the the fracture mechanics method to estimate thecrack propagation life of side framthe.5.Compare and analyze the fatigue life (based on the nominal method) with thetotal of the crack initiation life and the crack propagation life which are estimated basedon the two load spectrum.6.Assess line running35years of safety and reliability of Zhuan K6bogie sideframe.
