High temperature excitation coil manufacturing technology is one of the key technology aboutresearching High Temperature Active Magnetic Bearing (HTAMB) system. This thesis presents a newtype of excitation coil structure like maze based on the situation, that there are many defects anddeficiencies at home and abroad. This thesis theoretically analyzes the long-term stability workfeasibility of this structure in550℃high temperature environment, and try many kinds of processingtechnology, such as Electric Discharge Machining (EDM) wire cutting, Metal Powder RapidPrototyping Technology and so on. Experiments confirm that wire cutting is the best technology. Wesuccessfully manufacture the monolayer coil like maze and analyze the feasibility of casting,stamping forming and UV-LIGA. Successfully put high temperature resistant insulating material intothe gap of coils sufficiently and uniformly by trying to place the support body between coils.This thesis try to apply brazing, laser welded to connect multilayer coil like maze. Finally themultilayer coil like maze was firmly welded through the vacuum soldering process. Meanwhile,experiments confirm that the welding line resistance value is small in high temperature environmentand that the shear strength of the selected solder and welding line shaped by copper parent metal iscredible. Then the brazing metallographic examination confirms that brazing processing property isfine in coil welding. High temperature resistant insulating material is brushed on outside surface ofwelding forming multilayer coil like maze through the appropriate process and successfully realizethe whole encapsulation of the coil. Experiment show that coil insulation performance between turnsand layers is fine through inductance test in normal temperature and high temperature environment.Finally, this coil like maze is used on a single degree-of-freedom (DOF) high temperature activemagnetic bearings (HTAMB) test, and successfully achieve stable levitation about20hours in hightemperature550℃. Meanwhile it confirms that high temperature excitation coil is feasible in theoryand technology.Finally, this thesis observe the oxidized and impaired excitation coil internal structure caused byhigh temperature levitation test and the result show that the high temperature resistant insulatingmaterial used in encapsulated coil has a certain flaws, and it needs further research. The work of thethesis has made some theoretical and experimental preparations for the study on the research ofHTAMB system.
