Light gauge stainless steel pipes are to the fore in numerous water supply pipebecause of its strong corrosion resistance, recycling, no pollution and othercharacteristics, its promotion and application to improve water quality, played therole of the incomparable in improving people’s life quality.Relying on the set of GB "Technical specification for connecting of light gaugestainless steel pipes of building water supply and drainage",316Lss,316ss,304Lssand304ss stainless steel in different concentration chlorine ion of hot water, tap waterand tests erosion resistance in without bacteria water and with bacteria water ofdifferent stages, analysis and evaluation of the corresponding water in life of lightgauge stainless steel pipes corrosion resistance to chlorine resistant and microbialcorrosion resistance.Using electrochemical analysis and coupon of weight-loss method respectivelytests corrosion rate.Test results show that:(1)316Lss and316ss pipe have the fastestcorrosion rate in hot water with250mg/L chlorine ion and in tap water with1150mg/L chlorine ion, the corrosion resistance is weak; the corrosion rate of316Lss and316ss pipe in hot water with200mg/L,150mg/L chlorine ion and in tap water with1000mg/L,850mg/L chlorine ion are slow at a relatively.(2)304Lss and304ss pipehave the fastest corrosion rate in hot water with100mg/L chlorine ion and in tapwater with250mg/L chlorine ion, the corrosion resistance is weak; the corrosion rateof304Lss and304ss pipe in hot water with75mg/L,50mg/L chlorine ion and in tapwater with200mg/L,150mg/L chlorine ion are slow at a relatively.(3) in tap waterwith bacterium, the corrosion rate of316ss is faster than the316Lss,304ss is fasterthan the304Lss.Turbidity and total iron and corrosion rate correlated well when316Lss,316ss,304Lss and304ss stainless steel were corrosived in different concentration chlorineion of hot water and tap water; the total bacterial count of the change of water qualityand TOC has significant correlation when Light gauge stainless steel corrosion intap water with bacterium,there are the typical index investigation water quality aschloride ions and microbial corrosion of light gauge stainless steel.
