| This paper mainly studies on a monitoring of radiation dose, dose rate ofintelligent instrument. In the design process, for χ-ray, γ-ray features, selecta new ideal detector, and use a photodiode matching with the detector emission spectradoing Photo-electric conversion. After amplified and integrated, the signal gets intomicrocontroller and becomes valid data for displaying and storage. In addition, it canusing USB technology to transmit data to PC, to facilitate doing nuclear radiation datastorage, analysis and statistics, then Help staff to develop more completive radiation protectionprogram.This paper mainly studies of several elements as follows:(1)CsI(TI) scintillation detector. It be mainly made from CsI(TI) scintillation,silicon PIN photodiodes and charge-sensitive amplifier. It uses silicon PIN photodiodeto convert the optical signal detected by CsI(TI) scintillation from χ, γ radiation tocurrent signals, and then amplified the weak current signal circuit to become voltagesignal.(2) Pulse detection circuits. The Pulse detection circuits filter noise from detector,charge-sensitive amplifier and some other place by setting Threshold.(3) EEPROM memory. The biggest Advantage of EEPROM is data is not lost afterpower off. We take use of this feature to store valid data, which is very helpful toradiation date statistics, analysis, etc.(4) USB interface. USB2.0is a versatile interface technology, it make thecommunication between microprocessor with PC become simpler, and moreconvenient.(5) Power supply circuit. Because of the various modules in the system work ondifferent voltages, we need to convert Battery voltage to different to meet the individual modules work.The instrument can detect χ, γ-ray radiation dose equivalent and dose equivalentrate. Its user interface is convenient to use. The advantage of Small size and lightweight is very suitable for radiation-related personnel to carry. Monitoring data can beuploaded to computer, convenient to statistics and query for the staff’s safety. Thesystem repeatability test reach at4.133%, measured at the equivalent rate error controlwithin±15%, in line with the standards of radiation detection. It is suitable for nuclearpower plants, immigration testing, radiation therapy, nuclear technology application,etc. It will have a lot of applications in future. |
