How to determine the wind loads on the structure is the difficulty of high-risebuilding design and the foundation of wind-induced response. Airflow through thesurface of building produces a three-dimensional effect, that is along-wind, across-windand torsion-wind load. The along-wind turbulence is considered the main factor of thealong-wind fluctuating wind load. The mechanism of across-wind load is complex, andthe wind-induced response produced by it tends to be greater than the responseproduced by along-wind load. The torsion-wind load increases the displacement andacceleration near the edge of the building. So it is necessary to study the three directionsof wind load well. At present, the main method used to determine the wind load is bywind tunnel test and numerical simulation. This paper uses Shang Xin InternationalPlaza project as an example, through the numerical simulation and wind tunnel testcombination method, researching on the characteristic of wind load on the building forthe future similar project reference.This paper mainly carried out the following works:①Based on the CFD technology, Standard, RNG, Realizable three turbulencemodels are selected to carry on numerical simulation under16wind angles, the windpressure and wind pressure coefficient isoline map are get to guide the wind tunnel testof measuring hole arrangement.②By means of the wind tunnel test technology, Shang Xin International Plazabuilding is test under32wind angles. The results of local shape coefficient on eachsurface is detailed studied. The distribution of local shape coefficient in the modelsurface along the height and direction angle is analyzed, and it is compared with theresults of numerical wind tunnel simulation.③According to the data of wind tunnel test, the wind load characteristic of theShang Xin International Plaza building is detailed analyzed, the change of wind loadtime-history mean and variance with some factors is discussed. The change rules ofwind load spectrum characteristics along floor height and direction angle is discussed. Areasonable mathematical model is selected to fit the wind load power spectrum curve,respectively fit the turbulence part and the vortex shedding part of power spectrum toprovide usable mathematical model reference for the future similar projects.④Based on the measured data, the correlation coefficient of wind load is calculated, the changes of it along the floor height,floor vertical distance and winddirection is discussed. The coherence function of along-wind and torsion-wind load is fitby Davenport exponential decay rate, it is proved the Davenport exponential decay rateis effective. The coherence function of across-wind load is fit by modified exponentialdecay rate, it is proved that the modified exponential decay rate is more consistent withthe actual curve.
