The wiper is an important part of a vehicle, and its performance and reliability aretwo significant indexes in auto parts’ quality controlling. The traditional way to clearthe rain on the surface of the windshield is using a mechanical wiper, which may bringslots of problems, such as the failure, a higher maintenance cost and blocks the sight ofthe drivers. And it is likely to cause accidents in rainy or snowy days. Therefore, a newmethod to clear the water on the surface of windshield to solve the shortcomings oftraditional ways is studied in this thesis.Based on the analysis and study of the characteristics of ultrasonic, a method toclear the water on the surface of windshield by the ultrasonic cavitation effect is putforward. The ultrasonic power supply is used to drive the ultrasonic transducer, and itsfrequency and voltage can be regulated, then an ultrasonic can be generated. Theultrasonic is coupled to the water on the surface of vehicle glass with the supplementaryof coupler, at last the water is atomized and cleared up by ultrasonic.An ultrasonic power source is designed with the frequency range from100KHz to6MHz and the voltage range from0to24V. And a series of ultrasonic transducerswhich match with the ultrasonic power source are selected to set up an experimentalsystem. The way how to couple ultrasonic into glass also is discussed. Therefore,according to the frequency, power, glass type, glass thickness, temperature and otherparameters, a series of experiments and orthogonal experiments are designed. And someindexes are also formulated to evacuate the effect of the removal of water. For furtheranalysis, the software of ABAQUES is utilized to simulate the ultrasonic spread in thethree kind of glass, and the simulation results are consistent to the experimental results.Finally, the experiment results are analyzed. And the results show that the water onthe surface of windshield can be cleared based on the ultrasonic cavitation effect.74%of the water on the surface of a3mm thick float glass can be cleared when the frequencyof ultrasound is2MHz, and the supplied power voltage is24V. But the way for thepractical application needs to be studied further.
