Ancient buildings, with a large roof for the main external features of the Han andTang style are not only an important cultural heritage of the Chinese Nation, but alsoplay a very important role in the world’s architectural history. The wooden structure isthe main form of Chinese ancient architecture. But wood has some defects, such astimber corrosion, fire, insects and so on. The use of modern materials just to havesolved the above problem. Chinese ancient culture will be inherited and developed, withthe design and construction of the reinforced concrete archaizing architecture. Thers aremany large differences between reinforced concrete archaizing architecture andtraditional architecture, the shape of the large roof, structural arrangement, constructionof connections etc, in the design of the reinforced concrete archaizing architecture,which results in calculation and analysis of the structure more difficult. In addition, thetraditional methods have many inadequacies.In this paper, according to the characteristics of the structural arrangement ofreinforced concrete archaizing architecture, the construction of the ancient buildingswere fully analyszed. Various kinds of archaizing architecture models have beenestablished with the finite element software to explore the appropriate calculationmethods for this type of building structure, through the analysis of the static anddynamic calculations on the large roof structure.First, the structure of the ancient architecture in common form and the compositionof each component and their force condition in the structure were simple introduced,then according to the constraints of the ancient architecture system as well as the requirements of modern codes to establish the reinforced concrete archaizingarchitecture models. Meanwhile, it briefly described the basis for modeling andparameter settings.The displacement, stress and internal force diagrams of roof structure under thevertical load was obtained respectively through the static analysis of a variety of roofstructure models. It summarized that the relatively large and weak parts of the roofdisplacement and stress, and the components with the largest internal forces. It shouldbe serious, when it comes to the design of such buildings.The dynamic characteristics of the structure was studied through modal analysis.The natural period and the main modes of the structure was obtained. It is not only maksus deeper understand of the structural dynamic parameters of the archaizing architecture,but also provides the basis for dynamic analysis; Through the dynamic responseanalysis on the model, we found that the displacement and acceleration peak of thereference points in the roof structure models increased with the earthquake graduallyenhanced; Under the same seismic waves in the same excitation, with the position risen,the displacement and acceleration of each reference points of the roof structure showedan increasing trend. But the integral rigidity of the roof structure is very high, so thedifference of each reference points is not large; The response spectrum analysis resultsshow that the seismic waves which were chosen to do dynamic analysis was veryreasonable and met the codes requirements.It makes us further understand the mechanical properties of the archaizingarchitecture roof structure through the scientific analysis and research. All of theseprovide a theoretical basis for the design and study of the archaizing architecture in thefuture.
