Taking WuDang Mountain as the research object, this essay is mainly about thescene spatial patterns of the Pilgrim’s Progress proposed by Weiquan Zhou. Accordingto the systematic analysis on the Wudang Mountain, this typical special case, thepatterns, which exist in the history of the Chinese Taoist mountains construction, aremapped.First of all, the existing natural and cultural landscape are briefly discussedthrough the simply statement of the effect of Wudang Mountain’s natural resources,historical and cultural background, temples construction and Taoist activities onWudang Mountain landscape. This part is used as the background to introduce thefollowing core part of the Pilgrim’s ProgressSecondly, the concept of Pilgrim’s Progress, proposed by Mr. Zhou, is applied intothe specific attractions of Wudang Mountain. In accordance with the understanding ofthe concept of Pilgrim attractions classification, the attractions are divided into severalspatial hierarchy to analyze the Pilgrim patterns in the evolution and development ofWudang Mountain.On this basis, it is the first time to come up with the way of model decompositionfor the construction of the scene spatial patterns of the Pilgrim’s Progress of WudangMountain. The proof of the way is made by this argument. The conclusion is obtainedthat several scene space modes of terrain, tin road worship, climate, season,architecture, culture, Taoist cosmology are formed under the construction of thepatterns. Taking the patterns and construction and planning of Wudang Mountain intoconsideration, I obtain the reflection. It reveals and demonstrates that the Pilgrim is thedominant ideology for the famous Taoist mountain scene spatial patterns. It has thegreatly improtant reference for the heritage of traditional Chinese scene space, goodplanning and protection of Chinese Taoist mountains Scenic Area.
