With continuous social development, large vertical storage tank is more and morewidely used in the construction of chemical, petroleum, aviation, military and otherindustrial lines. During the process of the large vertical storage tank construction,commonly we need to erect scaffolding inside and outside, but this method lacks ofsecurity, costs highly, meanwhile it’s difficult to erect and use the scaffolding.“TheRing Lift Platform “is a new device of vertical storage tank construction. The device issuitable for each process of the vertical storage tank‘s external construction despite ofits diameters and heights. Only after several lifts, we can complete welding, rustcorrosion, thermal insulation and other processes, effectively overcoming theshortcomings of traditional scaffolding. So the application of the device has broadprospects. So far, a series of key technical issues concerning the ring lift platform arestill short of systematic research, such as the overall optimization design, strengthcheck of the key parts, and the method of simultaneously enhancing, etc.This thesis mainly studies one project of a construction Co., Ltd. in Qingdao.During the construction, the ring lift platform made a three-dimensional overallstructural design for a large29.94m-height vertical storage tank whose diameter is8.5m.In order to ensure the safety, the design fully considered and reasonably chose the sizeand material of some key press parts including tank lug, platform lug, guide wheels, andso on. On this basis, the company made several times multi-body contact finiteelement numerical simulation with the commercial finite element software ALGORtowards four lifting points, six lifting points and eight lifting point platform supportchannel,as well as the connecting bolts, tank lug and platform lug, etc., these key pressparts. Obtain the maximum equivalent stress after many times simulation, then calculatethe minimum safety factor of the key components. Lastly compare all the computationalresults and select the six lifting points for the best one. In addition, the paper initiallystudies the Circular Enhancing Platform Process, selecting a reasonable lifting methodto ensure the balance of the platform during the lift process. After the optimizationdesign, the successful application of the ring lift platform and the simultaneous enhancing process in the on-site construction has brought a substantial increase inconstruction progress, both ensured the safety of construction workers, and fullyverified the rationality of the optimization design towards this ring lift platform.
