In the air conditioning, industrial drying etc water vapor in the wet air often need to be removed,the moist air condenser is the key components of this cooling dehumidify process, the condensingperformance will have a direct impact on the moist air treatment effect. In order to get thecharacteristics and the influence factor of convection-condensation heat and mass transfer, thecondensation of moist air in counter flow condenser has been researched with method of numericalcalculation. This paper implemented the mathematics model and compared the results to experimentmeasurements. The conclusion provided the basis support to analysis and design process. The majorworks of this paper are as follows:1. Simplified the mathematics model under the premise of reflecting the heat and masstransfer.Established dynamic model and complied the dynamic simulation program based on C++.The dynamic response of the moist air condenser and parameters distribution under steady state werepresented.2.3D numerical simulation model was introduced where the air was seen as mixture of singlephase and multi species. The CFD simulation was carried out using species transport model ofFLUENT. The user-defined function (UDF) has been used to describe the heat and mass transfer asthe source term. The moist air condensation properties were presented.3. Based on the results of the two methods the influence factors of moist air condensation werepresented. The moist air inlet condition, cooling fluid inlet condition and the parameters of thecondenser were the factors which influenced the performance of the condensation. There is a bestdehumidify flow rate.4. An experimental system was set up to measure air condensation-convection heat and masstransfer and the test work has been done.5. The results both of dynamic model and CFD model could simulate the moist air condensationprocess. The former is better in engineering design calculation and analysis of dynamic characteristics,while the latter is more advantageous to the heat and mass transfer analysis.
