As one of the types of visual culture,image art holds an important position in our daily life。It includes several branches such as planar still photography,flowing image,photograph and 3D dynamic image and new media arts。The paper makes a systematic exploration,research and summary on the relationship between image art and product design,which could establish a theoretical structure of the significance of image art to product design,in order to find a logical direction of research and a application method which adapts to the requirement of progress of modern arts。The content of the design that is shown up by image art has become a symbol of value of the social formation,And the complementary nature of the relationship between image art and product design will become a main stream in the future。Under such background,the paper studies on the relationship between image art and product design by adopting corresponding design procedure。Firstly,the paper builds up the basic theory of image art,elaborate the emergence and connotation,the start and development of image art, as the basis of theory research。analyzes the features of both image art and product design and discusses the mutual effect between image art and product design,which can be reduced as intercommunity,amalgamation and superposition。secondly,discusses the application method of image art in the field of product design by introducing Boolean operation,and reduces the application method as union,intersection and difference set。lastly,analyzes the significant role that image plays in product design by application example of image art in product design。proposes an idea of holographic imaging GPS navigation conceptual work,which is a perfect combination of image art applying in product design and can come true in the future。...
