HXD3B type electric locomotive is ac drive main freight electric locomotive isdeveloped and manufactured by Dalian locomotive and rolling stock Co., LTD CNR Groupand Germany bombardier company, the core component of electric locomotive, the devicedriver part adopts the high toughness and impact ductile iron parts, in this paper, we analyseHXD3B electric locomotive drive gear case and embrace a body of car-body materialrequirements EN-GJS-400-18-LT, and combined with casting structure, formulate test plan,did the casting material experiment, success produce qualified casting, and at the same timecurtailed the production period and production cost greatly, ensure that drives box the smoothlocalization and HXD3B locomotive whole schedule and requirements. This paper expoundsthe analysis and test process, through selecting the melting of molten material, controlling thechemical composition and spheroidization, inoculation treatment process and operation ofeach respect such as the test, controlling, make thin section iron castings reach toEN-GJS-400-18-LT (40℃) material standard in as-cast, to achieve the material requirements,produce the castings, assembly HXD3B localization drive; we design and use the new streaminoculation equipment, do the instantaneous inoculation, solves the condition influence of thesite, and equipment, so the similar difficult product can stream inoculation treatment; Usedthe new materials: pretreatment agent, add carbon agent, covering agent, improve thespheroidizing and inoculated effect and improve the success rate of production; The one-timepouring molten nozzle box, solve the molten iron slag problem, and ensure the stability of thecasting time and temperature. Purify the molten iron by using the silicon carbide materials,improve the molten iron dramatically, reduce the second oxidation slag, improve the surfacequality of castings, has also increased test blocks density, improve the performance of themolten iron. Through the test and production, we can produce completely the as-cast ofEN-GJS-400-18-LT (-40℃) material of thin section iron castings, and through perfect theprocess control, so as to ensure the stability of the batch production, achieve domesticadvanced ductile iron processing level, also can take the test process and the method to theother material for effective promotion, to improve the level of production ductile iron.
