Ferrocene-contained polymer is a new-kind of functional polymer which can exhibit excellent electronic, optical and magnetic properties and has a extensive application prospects and important values in academic research and application. Every kinds of Ferrocene-based polymer (homopolymer.copolymer or hyper-branched polymer) has a great potential application because of its special molecular structure and chemical properties. As a new kind of Ferrocene-based macromolecular. it has aroused peoples" extensive interest.In the first part of research study, a novel Ferrocene-based homopolypeptide has been synthesized in consideration of the special α-helix or β-sheet secondary structure that polypeptide owned and the outstanding performance of Ferrocene. The obtained Ferrocene-based polypeptide showed excellent electrochemical property. First, the a-azido PCELG was prepared by ROP of CELG N-carboxyanhydride (CELG-NCA) at room temperature. PELG-g-Ferrocene and PELG-g-G1-Ferrocene were synthesized via the click reaction between the PCELG-N3homopolymer with the a-alkyne Ferrocene monomers in the presence of CuBr/PMDETA catalyst system. The obtained polymers were characterized in detail by NMR, GPC, FTIR and UV-vis. Furthermore, the electrochemical property was studied by the cyclic voltammetry (CV) and the thermal stability was characterized by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The self-assembly behavior of PELG-g-G1-Ferrocene in aqueous solution was studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM).In the second part of research work, the copolymer PEO-b-PCELG was prepared by ROP of CELG N-carboxyanhydride (CELG-NCA) at room temperature use methoxy polyethylene glycol amine as a initiator. PEO-b-(PELG-g-Ferrocene), PEO-b-(PELG-g-G1-Ferrocene) and PEO-b-(PELG-g-G2-Ferrocene) were synthesized via the click reaction in the presence of CuBr/PMDETA catalyst system. By the combination technique of1H NMR, FT-IR, GPC and UV-vis we proved the successful synthesis of the polymers. Furthermore, the properties of polymers were studied by CV, TGA, DLS, SEM and TEM. The result shown that the obtained polymers exhibited better electrochemical property and redox responsive property because of the import of OEG-based dendrimer.
