At present, there are many difficult issues in the coating industry including low deposition efficiency, high energy consumption, poor film quality and difficulty in recycling the waste solvent paint, etc. The key to these issues is to ensure product quality, environmental protection, high efficiency, emission reduction, production cost reduction and about all achieve the purpose of people-oriented.Based on collaborative project of " The development of related technologies for the vacuum coating engineering ", designing and manufacturing a new advance device. This device combined the electrostatic coating technology with the vacuum technology can achieve the effects of energy conservation, emissions reduction and high quality of spraying. The main work and research contents of this paper as follows:First of all, this paper discusses the development of coating process at home and abroad and its environmental problems, as well as the current development of vacuum coating technology and equipment. Introducing a new type of environmental protection spaying method and its process characteristics, research significance and prospect.Secondly, in order to meet the requirements of vacuum environment, designing a vacuum coating chamber including the chamber cylinder, the top chamber cap, the bottom chamber cap, seal flange and door body. And correspondingly designing reinforcement for the hole position of chamber. According to a series of standards of state, calculating the key parts of the vacuum coating chamber, as well as analyzing the structure of vacuum coating chamber by finite element analysis, checking the correctness of the theoretical calculation results, further to ensure the reliability and feasibility of the vacuum coating chamber. The designed vacuum coating chamber provides the vacuum electrostatic spraying with a stable, safe working environment.Thirdly, in order to meet the requirements of vacuum electrostatic coating technology, designing indoor coating mechanism, including the reciprocating mechanism, rotation mechanism and seal shaft, etc. Depending on ergonomic principles and electrostatic spray process specification, determining the layout of people-to-institution and institution-to-institution. Analyzing the structure and working principle of the reciprocating mechanism and rotation mechanism, as well as introducing the movement and function of traverse unit. Designing dynamic seal shaft to avoid the deficiency of motor in thermal under the vacuum environment. The indoor coating mechanism of vacuum chamber provide the vacuum electrostatic spraying with the necessary hardware.Finally, discussing three movement processes through the electrostatic spraying and their influencing factors. Studying the movement relationship between the reciprocating mechanism and the rotation mechanism. Analyzing their trajectory characteristics by ADAMS software, so as to determine the best helmet spraying trajectory and the basic technological parameters of the vacuum electrostatic spraying for helmet. Summarizing the technological process of vacuum electrostatic spraying for helmet and drafting technical parameters and studying the influence of the voltage of vacuum electrostatic spraying equipment to the film thickness and to the coating deposition rate, providing reference for the later generation in this field.The environmental protection vacuum electrostatic coating equipment introduced in this paper has been put into production use and has achieved a good coating effect, promoted the new roads and new ideas of the development of combining the vacuum technology with the coating technology.
