In this paper, the fusel was added in bituminous pyrolysis for the first time. The pyrolysis of shenmu bituminous coal was investigated on a fixed-bed reactor. We hoped to improve the situation that the coal tar yield of the traditional pyrolysis process was low. Best pyrolysis parameters were investigated, and then the regularity of yields and compositions of the pyrolysis product was summarized. The fusel was studied about reaction mechanism and function during the pyrolysis, and came true full use.The effect of reaction conditions such as temperature, holding time, nitrogen flow rate, pressure, fusel flow rate on the pyrolysis process was investigated under nitrogen and fusel atmosphere. The proper pyrolysis reaction parameters for shenmu bituminous pyrolysis were: temperature520℃, nitrogen flow rate50mL/min, holding time15min and pressure0.5MPa under nitrogen atmosphere. The yield of coal tar was9.16%on this condition. When the reaction tube was heated to300℃, preheated fusel was added to reaction tube. The proper reaction conditions for shenmu pyrolysis were:temperature500℃, nitrogen flow rate50mL/min, pressure0.5MPa, holding time20min and continuously added fusel during thermostatic time under fusel atmosphere. The corresponding yield of char was83.53%, water was4.57%, coal tar11.39%, and the yield of coal tar was about24.35%higher than absence of fusel. The yield of pyrolysis gas increased with rising pyrolysis temperature after added fusel. Component content of pyrolysis gas was detected by GC, the yields of CO2, H2, CH4and C2H6were increased significantly. The char was detected by IR and industrial analysis with the purpose of researching the change of oxygen functional groups during pyrolysis.Coal tar of shenmu bituminous pyrolysis was treated with pickling, alkaline cleaning and column chromatography, then it was seperated into five fractions that gas charomatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) was used to analyze. Aliphatic series mainly included alkanes, alkenes and cycloalkanes. Aromatic series were main compounds in benzene derivatives, naphthalenes derivatives, substituted indene, anthracene and phenanthrene compounds. Polar groups were primarily composed by alcohols, ketones, aldehydes and esters compounds etc. Additionally, the main components of acidic fractions were phenol derivatives. Finally, the alkaline fractions mainly included pyridine, quinoline, aniline, indole derivatives and so on. In the proper experimental conditions, the yields of acidic, alkaline and polar series was increased after added fusel. The contents of alkane. benzene, alcohol, ketone. aldehyde, phenol, quinoline and aniline compounds added in the tar. And the yields of phenol, cresol and xylenol increased by degress120.00%.116.22%and178.26%.
