Study On The Ecological Philosophy Thoughts In Silent Spring

Rachel Carson is a famous ecological literature of America, her book that "Silent Spring" is recognized as the world environmental protection movement for the mountains, which contains a wealth of ecological philosophy. This paper attempts to summarize the main content of ecological philosophy, analysis the positive effects of ecological philosophy thoughts for later generations.Firstly, this paper gives a brief introduction of Carson’s life, and describes the reason and the significance of writing "Silent Spring".Secondly, through the works of "Silent Spring" content analysis, analysis of ecological philosophy behind them, and from the American historical conditions and ecological philosophy of the theoretical foundation, said the inevitability of the ecological philosophy thoughts of the interpretation of Carson’s ecological philosophy is divided into four parts:Anti-anthropocentrism, the idea of biological evolution, ecological holism and reverence for life, ecological philosophy can be said that Carson’s "Silent Spring" is a forward-looking. Finally, this paper discusses Carson’s book "Silent Spring" philosophy of ecological impact on future generations, no doubt,"Silent Spring" to persuade human beings believe that our interests depends on a healthy environment around us, we and the environment as a whole, revolutionized the concept of human ecological; inspired the environmental movement and prompted the federal government to set up a new institution to deal with toxic drugs problem in the agriculture the corresponding legislation came into being; addition, on the basis of the environmental movement and has a role in promoting the formation of environmental science and environmental history.This paper speaks highly of Carson about making unremitting efforts of human environmental protection. The ecological philosophy of Carson’s philosophical connotation of mining is conducive to our understanding of her thoughts, have a positive role and contribution of beneficial for us to study the ecological philosophy of environmental history, history of cognition, more conducive to correctly handle the environmental problems in the development of our contemporary society.
