Gold nanomaterials mainly include gold nanoparticles and gold nanorods. Due to their high area ratio, surface-en egry and surface-activation, gold nanoparticles show fascinating properties on optical, electronic, biological compatibility. It is reported that they have extensive applications in catalysis, biological detection, biological sensing, biological probe and gene chip fields in the near future. The main content of this paper is organized as follows:1. We successfully prepared the gold nanoparticles with size below20nm by using the tannic acid-tri-sodium citrate reduction method. By changing the volume of the tannic acid add to the solution, we could control the size of the gold nanoparticles. We came to a conclusion that with the tannic acid decrease, the size and size distribution of the gold nanoparticles increase.2. Gold nanoparticles with the size between20nm and100nm could be synthesized by applying the tri-sodium citrate reduction method. By altering the mount of tri-sodium citrate added to the solution the size of the gold nanoparticles could be adjusted. It can be concluded that with decreasing the tri-sodium citrate, the mean size of the gold nanoparticles increasing.3. Gold nanorods are produced by using the seed-mediated method, this approach include the preparation of the gold seeds and growth solution, the growth of the gold nanorods, impurities treatment and so on. We using the’one step method’to synthesize gold nanorods, then by changing the experimental condition, the gold nanorods with structure stability and shape regularly are produced. In the meantime, we study the influence in the growth of the gold nanorods by changing the synthetic condition about AgNO3, CTAB, ascorbic acid in the’three step method’. At last, the effective approaches to remove impurities and preserve samples are discussed.
