Numerical control technology, which is the core technology of the equipment manufacturing industry, is drawing more and more countries’ attention. It has been regarded as an important way to accelerate the development of economy and to raise a country’s overall national strength. In the new period, our country also has advanced the emphasis of equipment manufacturing industry development to significantly high levels. The12th Five-Year Plan has stated its goal of developing high-end CNC machine tools.This paper focuses on researching the intelligent machining and optimization technology of high-end CNC. An intelligent system for CNC machining and optimization was established on windows platform with the FOCAS (FANUC Open CNC Application Software) using visual studio2005. The software system includes three modules:knowledge database of processing parameters, on-line machining optimization, remote fault diagnosis and early warning. For the knowledge database module, this paper designs a knowledge database of machining parameter according to the selection principle of machining parameters. The machining parameters can be conveniently added, edited, deleted through the management interface of knowledge database. The on-line machining optimization module’s main function is to detect and inhibit the vibration of machine tool spindle with the implementation of adaptive control technology. Under the support of diagnosis information database and early-warning knowledge database, remote diagnosis and early-warning module aims to diagnosis and warn the CNC machine faults.The testing and assessment of the system reveals that the system has high stability. The system is also proved to own the intelligent characteristic, the response time of real-time optimization can reach0.08ms. The system also able to effectively diagnosis and warn the faults of CNC machine tools and the success rate of fault warning is more than85%. In all, the system finishes the goal of improving the information level of CNC machine tools.
