With the large numbers of interior decoration, indoor chemical pollutants exceeded aggravation of the problems of modern human has enter a third pollution period with indoor chemical pollution as symbol after the first pollution period-the period of the coal-burning pollution and the second pollution period-photochemical smog pollution. World Health Organization has listed indoor chemical pollution as one of the five environmental factors harmful to public health. The harm has become one of the world’s most concerned problems and how to monitor and control indoor chemical contamination safely and effectively has become the problems to be solved.By using22common indoor shade-tolerant foliage plants as test materials and artificial fumigation method, according to the classification by the degree of injury and symptoms after formaldehyde and benzene pollution stress, the study analyzes the sensitivity and monitoring capability of the tested plants on indoor formaldehyde and benzene pollution and the sensitivity are graded; Through three times’randomized block experimental design and statistical analysis of variance analysis and multiple comparisons, the study screens out of eight kinds of plants with strong comprehensive sensitivity are strong monitoring capacity of the plant and proposes the optimal monitoring of chemical pollution indoor plant combinations, and for different types of interior space, build a plant to monitor indoor chemical pollution configuration mode.1. Indoor chemical pollution and selection of susceptible plantsThe results show that:The plants most sensitive to the indoor formaldehyde pollution:Impatiens balsamina, Begonia x aelatior, Melissa Officinalis, Pelargonium hortorwn; stronger:Rieger Beginia, Zebrina pendula Schnizl, Mentha canadensis, Pelargonium Saivia, Chlorophytum comosum, Scindapsus aureun. The plants most sensitive to the indoor benzene pollution:Impatiens balsamina, Begonia x aelatior, Melissa Officinalis; stronger:Zebrina pendula Schnizl, Pelargonium hortorum, Mentha canadensis, Chlorophytum comosum, Scindapsus aureun. The plants with strong comprehensive sensitivity to indoor formaldehyde and benzene pollution sensitivity are:Impatiens balsamina, Begonia x aelatior, Pelargonium hurtorum, Zehrina pendula Schnizl, Scindapsus aureun, Mentha Canadensis, Chlorophytum comosum, Pelargonium hortonim.2. Indoor chemical pollution plant monitoring capabilityThe results show that:(1) The plant monitoring capabilities of indoor formaldehyde pollution①The effects of formaldehyde concentration and plant species and their synergistic effect of formaldehyde concentration and plant species on plant chlorophyll, MDA, POD changes can reach the significant level; as for the two factors, the effects of formaldehyde concentration on plant chlorophyll, MDA, POD changes is more significant.②Different plant species effects on plant chlorophyll, MDA and POD difference between all reached very significant level. From the point of view of the changes of plant chlorophyll, MDA, and POD in the same formaldehyde concentration:Glass Begonia’s monitoring capability is the strongest and it can be used to monitor indoor formaldehyde pollution.(2) The plant monitoring capabilities of indoor benzene pollution①The effects of benzene concentration and plant species and their synergistic effect of formaldehyde concentration and plant species on plant chlorophyll, MDA, POD changes can reach the significant level; as for the two factors, the effects of benzene concentration on plant chlorophyll, MDA, POD changes is more significant.②Different plant species effects on plant chlorophyll, MDA and POD difference between all reached very significant level. From the point of view of the changes of plant chlorophyll, MDA, and POD in the same benzene concentration:Impatiens’monitoring capability is the strongest and it can be used to monitor indoor benzene pollution.3. For different types of single pollutants and contaminants mix proposed optimal chemical contamination monitoring indoor plant combinations-Impatiens balsamina, Begonia x aelatio, Melissa Officinalis, Mentha canadensis; living space and office space for the optimal plants used in different combinations of interior space in the partition function is constructed rests Required plants and plants that are a combination of optional monitor configuration mode.
