| Polypropylene(PP) is one of common engineering plastics in life.Because of its lightweight,non-toxic,corrosion resistance and low cost,it is widely used in medical, automotive,food and beverage industry.However,some property shortcomings also limits its application,for example,its transparent capability is bad,its strength is not ideal,its conductive capability is poor,etc.The modification of the above shortcomings has become a research hot spot in recent years.In this paper,multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) and TMB-5are mixed into the resin to modify polypropylene.Firstly,using the melt blending method to prepare composite materials of different proportions,Mechanical testing,DSC,XRD testing methods are used to study the related properties of the composites.Mechanical testing reveals the addition of MWCNT led to an increase in the tensile strength and elastic modulus of PP,and when MWCNT content increase,the effect of increase is more pronounced.The addition of TMB-5make the elongation at break increase and also make the impact strength increase.When MWCNT content increase,the effect of increase is more pronounced as well.When the two components are added simultaneously,the value of the tensile strength and elastic modulus of the composite material are between the tensile strength and elastic modulus of the composite material that with only add one kind of component in,while the impact strength is higher than all composite materials that only add one kind of component in.In the crystal morphology respect,when add MWCNT or TMB-5into the matrix,the Xall of composite material increased.When the the two components add together,content of different crystal varies with the changes of the two-component content,in the case of the same MWCNT content,the relative content of (3crystal first increases with the increase of TMB-5content and then decreases with the increase of the content of TMB-5.In the Non-isothermal crystallization respect,for all composite materials,the crystallization peak temperature Tp of the polymer decreases when the cooling rate,increases,the time required for crystallization is reduced,the crystallization degree of perfection decreased.Simultaneously add the two fillers or add one compound alone can speed up the crystallization,increase the peak temperature of crystallization and make the time required for crystallization of the composite material shorter.The effect of improving of the above properties of composite material of simultaneously adding the two components in is superior to the effect of the improving of the above properties of composite material that only add one kind of compound in.It can be found from the non-isothermal melt data that the accelerate of cooling rate can cause the melt peak temperature (Tm) decreases.The peak size of the two polymorphs varies with the changes of the content of the two components,it shows that we can control the crystalline form of the PP by adjust the content of the nucleating agent. |
