With the acceleration of the process of industrialization and urbanization, human activities such as burning of fossil fuel and land-use changes are likely to increase the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere accumulation. Global climate continued warming, extreme climate disaster events occur frequently, that has attracted attention from all countries, from Kyoto protocol to the Copenhagen World Climate Conference, controlling carbon emissions become an important political constraint.Besides fossil fuel burning, land use changes become important reasons for the increasing of carbon dioxide in the global atmosphere. Under the background of global climate warning, quantitative research of carbon emissions effect on land utilization is of great significance. Foreign studies on land use and the carbon cycle started earlier, including the studies of land use structure, low-carbon economy and low carbon cities, economical and intensive use of land with quantitative methods, etc. since the1980s, related research in domestic gradually has being arisen, according to China’s land ecosystem carbon emissions calculating, low carbon land use pattern and low carbon economy become hotspot.The researches based on current information on specific terrestrial ecosystems of carbon emissions are more mature now and also have obtained some achievements. According to the carbon emissions (absorption) coefficient summarized by domestic and overseas scholars and the study on the Chinese single ecosystem, to summarize regional land use carbon emissions types, and take Hubei province as research area, using its statistical data of land use change and social, economic and energy consumption indexes from1998-2009, to calculate the carbon emissions on different land use types. In time scales, to analyze the emissions effect of main land use types, to analyze the sequential variation of the ratio of source and sink and the carbon intensity of different land types, and to study the differences of carbon emissions of land and carbon emissions intensity of every city in space scales, point out the relationship between regional land use and the carbon emissions. Then use different regression forecast models, based on the current regional land use carbon emissions trends, combining land use planning data and carbon emissions effect of main land use means. It shows that, in the future period of time, carbon emissions will continue to grow in Hubei, the work of Carbon Reduction is hard. Finally, according to the results of estimation of the past and prediction of future, give some suggestions carbon emissions of land use by using land-use system, low-carbon economic development and planning decisions and other relevant policy advice, to promote the research area of land use during the twelfth-five-year plans structural optimization. To establish resource conservation and environmental friendly type of low carbon and to provide decision-making reference to the subsequent low carbon economy development and planning research. And at last, the research results were summarized and subsequent research was prospected.
