Virtual manufacture technology is the combination of traditional manufacturewith information technology. Along with the rapid development of milling andmodern information technology, the accuracy of the workpiece is more and morestrict. It means that the forecast and control of manufacturing process will be thekey of the control of workpiece machining accuracy. Therefore, it has the importantpractical meaning that it can optimize process scheme, improve the manufacturingprecision and lower manufacturing cost by precision prediction in NC millingphysical simulation.Using the finite element analysis, this article establishes the models of the finiteelement calculation and precision prediction in NC milling. Aiming at the millingprocess, this article establishes analysis module in the use of the finite elementlibrary, material database, constrained algorithm and related algorithm in ALGOR.And the simulation of the finite element analysis is discrete into subsystems. In eachsubsystem, according to the Boolean operation of cutting tool and workpiece, theanalysis module of finite element simulation is completed. In post-processing ofsimulation analysis, the results and variable nephograph of physical quantities areanalyzed, workpieces nodes are acquired and surface morphology of workpiece isgenerated. Based on the surface morphology which is from ALGOR into MATLAB,it can realize the rebuilt of surface morphology with more powerful calculation inMATLAB. According to the relative model of prediction accuracy, the prediction ofsurface roughness, flatness, straightness and line profile are put out. At the sametime, based on the development platform of VC++, combined with MATLABgraphical system function, the predicted system which can predict the precision invirtual NC milling processing is developed.Combining theoretical research and experiment method, this paper establishesthe models of NC milling finite element analysis and the precision prediction whichis verified to be reasonable. It provides a basis of information prediction for virtualNC milling. It provides an important method to realizing the intellectualization of the milling process.
