| With the development of society and science, there is an increasing demand on the security of life and property, in which the fire safety is considered as an important part. Due to its flammability characteristics, traditional textile products have been a significant fire hazards in the ordinary life. Especially those organic polymer materials, polyester terephthalate (PET) as the most representative, are flammable in high temperature and their dripping effect even contributes to the spread of fire. Thus the flame retardant treatment of polyester textile has become one of the hotspots in the industry.Nowadays there are several process ways to render the polyester material fire retardant, among which the melting spinning process and the coating process are widely used. These two methods are feasible respectively for fiber phase material and fabric phase material. This article compares two textile material treated by these two methods using diethyl phosphonic acid aluminum as flame retardant agent about their material surface character and combustion performance. These two methods have their own advantages and disadvantages in structural strength, flame retardancy and surface feeling, according to that a suitable process can be chose to manufacture a fire retardant polyester seat covering fabricMeanwhile taking into account environment protection and energy conservation, this paper attempts to improve ecologically the existing intumescent flame retardant material. The pentaerythritol, as a component of carbon source in the intumescent flame retardant, brings environment pollution and energy consumption during its manufacturing process. Therefore this article attempts to replace it by sorbitol which is much more economical and ecological. The fire test and the sensory evaluation are carried out for the textile materials treated by the improved formula to classify their fire property. |
