A new miniature-specimen technology called Hydraulic Bulge(HB) method, which is applied to metallic mechanical properties, was proposed according to the principle of bursting disc and was studied. Related device has been designed, a series of bursting test and traditional test using different materials has been carried out, including Al,Ni201,16MnR,316L, SA240304,S30408, SUS304, etc. The curve of Load vs Displacement has been got and the characteristic load was used to make the relationship between HB result and traditional result including yield stress, ultimate stress, elongation percentage after fracture etc. According to the test, simulation and theoretical analysis, the main results are shown in the following:(1)The size of miniature-specimen has been reasonably determined, and related device used for HB test has been designed successfully.(2)Based on lots of material tests, the relationship between the traditional result and HB result has been obtained according to the curve of L-D and the percentage elongation, reduction of thickness after fracture.(3) Through ANSYS simulation and HB test, it is proved that factors such as specimen thickness, fixture chamfering and loading speed have effect on the results of HB test. It shows that specimen thickness has heavy influence on the results.
