Biodiesel is an excellent substitute of diesel because of its good environmental and reproducible benefits and high cetane content. Fixed by the molecular structure, the low-temperature properties of biodiesels are not so good. It’s necessary to study the biodiesel’s low-temperature properties and try to make them better. The low-temperature properties including CFPP, viscosity and crystallization of peanut oil biodiesel, palm oil biodiesel, soybean oil biodiesel, cotton oil biodiesel and the mixtures of them were studied in this paper. It was found that biodiesels act as Newtonian fluids at high temperature and Non-Newtonian Fluids at low temperature. The viscosity of biodiesel is decreased by mixing with diesel. Alcoholysis MA-VA-STA pour point depressant was synthesized in different conditions. The best condition of synthesis process was:polymerizationreaction temperature80℃, initiator quantity0.05g, solvent amount50ml, and reaction time4hours. The molecular weight would not determine but affect PPD responses in diesel. The branched structure of the PPD is one of the key factors which affect PPD responses.
