Recently, increased attention has focused on porous metal-organic frameworks(MOFs). With excellent structure and many desirable properties, MOFs have a brightprospect application in gas storage, separation and purification, catalysis, senseingand composite materials, and so on. Therefore, the synthesis of MOFs has becomeone of the hot issues in chemistry and materials science. As one of the classical MOFs, HKUST-1bears outstanding architectural featurewhich drive the researchers to exploit its properties and applications continuously.Believe to be able to bring some special performance by one component or severalcomponents alternating. Hence, in the paper a new MOF Ni3(BTC)2(Me2NH)3(1)(BTC=trimesic acid, Me2NH3=dimethylamine) was successfully synthetize by thereplacement of Cu of HKUST-1by Ni, react to trimesic acid. The high yield could beobtained by chosing proper auxiliary under the simple and moderate reactionconditions. Because of the existence of the shape and size selectivity, and the stronginteraction between active site of Ni and the strong polarity molecule ethanol, theamount of adsorbed ethanol is13times than that of cyclohexane which is indicativeits potential to separate ethanol and cyclohexane.
