As an advanced manufacturing technology of micro cutting, micro turn-millingcould meet the diversity requirements of shapes and materials of three-dimensionalmicro parts, which had more advantages especially for machining precision small partsin the middle-scale at feature size from10μm to1mm, And had become one of theimportant enabling technologies to overcome the limitations of MEMS technology. Atthe same time, because of many advantages such as space-saving, energy-saving,easy-to-restructuring and low cost, the machine of micro miniaturization was especiallysuitable for processing micro slender shaft parts and micro parts with complexthree-dimensional structure, surface characteristics. Therefore, it had very importantsignificance of designing the structure and studying the dynamic characteristics ofmicro turn-milling machine.This paper was based on the principle and technology of turn-milling, the structureand layout form were overall designed according to the parameters such as structurecharacteristics、technological requirements and the materials of workpiece and tool,Andthe key components were selected and designed in accordance with the actualrequirements, focusing on the design of the turning spindle. By the structural analysisand design calculations of the turning spindle units, and the check analysis of variousparameters, the results showed that the spindle structure can meet the processingrequirements.The three-dimensional solid model was established based on UG software and thevirtual prototype model was constructed using ADAMS software. The kinematicssimulation was carried out according to the actual work by adding constraints and dataconversion, which made the campaign process of micro turn-milling machine simpleand clear. Meanwhile, the displacement, velocity and acceleration curves of the tool andworkpiece which are changed over time were measured, and the trajectory of the toolcenter point was tracked which laid the foundation for dynamics simulation and furtherstudy of the micro turn-milling machine. The mode shapes of the whole model throughdynamic analysis was studied, and the main mode of vibration and natural frequency were obtained, which provided a basis to assess and predict the static and dynamiccharacteristics of the micro turn-milling machine. Finally, the vibration system modelwas established, the excitation signal was inflicted at the tip-point, then vibrationanalysis was made with swept sine method, the harmonic responses in X、 Y、Z threedirections and the space of the tool and the workpiece were got. Through the modelsimulation, It was verified that the micro turn-milling machine had good performanceand could meet the design requirements,which provided an important reference for thefurther research and the commercialization of the micro turn-milling machine.
