It has become a trend to develop environmentally friendly processes using renewable biomass fuels which cause no net increase in carbon dioxide emissions. This technology is increasingly necessary because the known environmental effects of the increased consumption of non-renewable fossil fuels are inherently destructive, especially with regard to the greenhouse effect. Food crisis is also a concern in many parts of the world, limiting the development and utilization of the first generation bioethanol processes as it competes with food for arable land and labor. As a result, the second generation bioethanol with lignocellulose as the primary material is being paid more and more attention. This research focused on enhancing the saccharification efficiency of lignocellulosic materials, one of the limiting processes in bioethanol production. In this research, the cellulase was prepared from the two different cellulase producing strains:Penicillium decumberns JUA10-1and Aspergillus aculeatus ZLF. These two crude enzyme preparations were mixed with various protein ratios. The enzyme cocktail was mixed with the lignocellulosic biomass. These results showed that the enzyme cocktail improved glucose and xylose release from lignocelluloses compared with single enzyme system from Penicillium decumberns or Aspergillus aculeatus.Furthermore, cellulase production by strain Aspergillus niger FAB was optimized and the optimum medium was achieved.
