Droplet jet is a technique which deposits small droplets on the suitable position,developing very fast with inkjet technology, widely applied in different fields nowadays. Howto eject smaller drop is the direct factor affecting inkjet imaging quality, so it is necessary toanalyze and study ejecting conditions for inkjet printing.The thesis shows a jet experiment of ethylene glycol with a set of piezoelectric jet deviceand through high frequency cameras capture the image of droplet generation and flightprocess at different time. Then investigates the effect of several parameters such as operationfrequency, pulse time, pulse voltage, pulse configuration on the process of droplet jet. Each ofparameters was observed separately, in order to find an optimal condition for ethylene glycoldroplet ejection.The3-dimensional geometric model is established, based on the nozzle structure in theinkjet system and the whole course of ethylene glycol droplet’s formation and fall is simulatedin the thesis. In this simulation system, problems of the Interface reconstruction and the liquidvolume adopt on the PLIC (Piecewise Linear Interface Calculation) and coupling VOF(Volume of Fluid) method to calculate. At the nozzle pressure-time relation which caused bypiezoelectric materials deformation accord to wave propagation theory. Through numericalsimulation method reproduces the entire process of droplet changing shape, and elaborates theformation mechanism of droplet.The experiment indicates that changing different parameter will affect droplet formationmechanism and flying status. Only set the parameter in a rational scope, can obtain the betterdroplet ejection form. Under the contrast of experiment and simulation, different dropletformation phases were analyzed which included initial stage, necking stage, break-up stage,the satellite droplet formation stage and the veracity of simulation system was well validated.Simulation has good consistence with experiment results in droplet configuration, break-uptime, flying distance.Theory and experiment laid the foundations for numerical simulation of droplet ejectionprocess, and the method of numerical simulation have a guiding significance to theimprovement of the droplet control system in the actual application.
