Soil is the most basic environment factor of human survive, its extend of pros or cons is directly related to human’s life level and quality of life. With the rapid development of industry, all kinds of heavy metal elements are spread from cities to countryside, from single point source pollution to non-point source pollution. Heavy metal in the soil has many characteristics such as poor mobility, long-term retention and easy transfer through food chain from crops to the human body, once human body is damaged by heavy metal, they can appear very serious pathological characteristics, and will be difficult to cure. So the settlement of soil problem of heavy metal pollution has already become the most important matter of moment.Jiutai City is the important food base in Jilin province, it not only provides agricultural products to the capital of Jilin Province-Changchun, but also provides strategic grain reserves to the country each year. So the study of soil research in Jiutai City is great significant to provide the basic of protect and reasonable use soil resource and to provide protection of food security.This article choices Jiutai City as study area, and take110points to test heavy metal contents of Cadmium, Arsenic, Chromium and Lead. With Global Position System (GPS) and Geographic Information System (GIS), by using two kinds of assessment methods (comprehensive index method and analytic hierarchy process), and according to the national soil environment quality standard combined with ninety s in changchun city, jilin province soil background value, to JiuTaiShi soil heavy metal status of more comprehensive analysis.The results of the study show that, in the ninetys in changchun city of jilin province soil background value and the current state soil environment quality standards for the standard respectively, soil chrome content that relative to the ninety s changchun soil background values basic not too big change, according to soil environment quality standard level one standard. Although there are five towns soil lead more than ninetys changchun soil back ground value, but also conforms to the national soil environment quality standard level standard. Arsenic content has two towns beyond ninety s changchun soil background values, but all conform to the state soil environment quality standard level standard. But the cadmium content beyond all ninety s changchun soil back ground values, and multiple exceeds bid in10times above; At the same time the cadmium content also all over soil environment quality standard level3standards. With single factor-comprehensive pollution index assessment method, Chromium content is in safe level,, Lead and Arsenic are qualified, but some contents are in alarm;But all the cadmium content exceeds bid, belongs to the light pollution state;With analytic hierarchy process (AHP), except for Cadmium, Lead, Arsenic and Chromium are in safe.To sum up, two results with different assessment methods are the same. The soil in Jiutai countyside has polluted by Cadmium, some places are very serious. Hope to provide scientific basis for pollution prevention and control and sustainable development in Jiutai City by this investigation results.
