With the characteristics of light weight, easy to shape,corrosion-resistance, high strength, and surface treatment and so on,widely used in transportation, bridges, buildings, machinerymanufacturing, aerospace and navigation and other fields. UsingExtrusion technology to the production of aluminum, not only can savemetal, but also have production efficiency. However, extrusion moldquality is good or bad which is determine the feasibility of the key factorsof success or failure of a new product development and an extrusionprocess within the production of extrusion. Therefore, in order to ensurethe quality of extruded products and improve the life of the mold, it mustbe reasonably designed extrusion die structure.Flat die and the porthole die play a very important in the productionwhen the aluminum to be squeezed. Taking two kinds of typical polygonindustrial aluminum profiles as the research objection in this paper, Usingtwo kinds of finite element of Deform-3D and HyperXtrude to simulateand analysis the flow of metallic materials in the aluminum extrusionprocess, according to the mumerical simulation results and put forward tooptimization design schemes of extrusion die structure for two aluminumprofiles. Finally, Using Hyper Study finite element to analysis andoptimization the bearing-length for extrusion die. Mainly gain thefollowing achievements:1. According to the characteristics of aluminum extrusion. Firstly,Theory of DEFORM-3D finite element software and HyperXtrude finiteelement software are introduced, using two kinds of finite element toestablish model of the process to prepare for the aluminum profilessqueeze and mold design study.2. Established the mathematical model of Thermal-Mechanical withthe theory of the elastic-plastic and heat transfer, with a solid complexaluminum as the research objection. Using the orthogonal method ofsimulation experiments and HyperXtrude finite element to study theextrusion parameters and design of the mold, which is effect the profileflow velocity field and the extrusion pressure and so on. 3. With a polygon hollow aluminum profile as the research objection,using two kinds of finite element of Deform-3D and HyperXtrude tosimulate and analysis the extrusion process. The filed distributions ofvelocity and temperature were obtained during the extrusion process,though adding the diversion trench,rationally arranging the holes andadjusting the die land length,the ideal of die structure can be obtainedand improved the service life of the die.4. Select the extrusion die with the length of study, using HyperStudy finite element to analysis and optimization the bearing-length forextrusion die. These optimization results show that the velocity of profileis more uniform than before,At the same time,the deformation and stressof aluminum profiles become much smaller,which play a very importantrole to identify the bearing-length and improve the quality of profiles.
