For precision grinding of hard and brittle materials, Diamond wheel become an irreplaceable tool in the process of grinding with its unique performance. But diamond wheel dresser became the key issues that hinder its further development.Because diamond is the hardest substance known on the world, Using the traditional method of shaping trimming will encounter many difficulties.With the rapid development of special machining technology, Developed EDM technology for precision and ultra-precision machining. In particular, it’s non-contact process,make it has a unique advantage for machining hard and brittle materials.The study by the present subject was gas EDM dressing diamond wheel technology. This is a new technology of the dressing diamond wheel. This trimming technique reduce the dependence of the liquid medium, and greatly expand the use of wheel dressing.This article studied the impact of the grinding wheel surface topography on basic principles of the gas medium EDM and on trimming feasibility and on EDM parameter selection.In the experim design and use a disk-shaped tool electrode. Studied the difference between using the rotary electrode wheel dressing, and the polarity effect under gas medium EDM dressing diamond wheel. And analyzed the different wheel surface morphology under different process parameters EDM dressing.The experimental showed that:EDM dressing diamond wheel under ordinary air conditions is feasible, and use rotating electrode dressing could produce more stable trimming and more precise wheel surface morphology. By using high-power resistor in the circuit, we can make such a wheel dressing technology become more suitable for the trimming of micronized diamond wheel. |
