Composite is used in various manufacturing field as a new material. During practicalproduction, there are many factors influencing the forming size of composite parts,such as,the difference of thermal expansion coefficient between die and composite, the chemicalshrinkage deformation, and the interaction between the die and the composite. In order toslove the problem of parts’ size inaccuracy, optimizing curing procedure related factors andmodifying the die’s profile by the practice are the methods of controlling the deformation ofcomposite. But the methods need many human and material resources, prolong compositeproduction cycle, and improve composite manufacturing cost. This paper presents FEMsimulation method predicting and controling composite’s deformation by the sudy oncomposite’s curing deformation. And it can get the expected part’s shape, decrease productioncost and improve the part’s forming accuracy, using the die’s profile compensation algorithm.For composite’s autoclave molding process, this paper mainly study temperaturedistribution of composite, and describes composite’s autoclave molding principle and heattransfer law during the forming, using thermodynamics and curing reaction dynamic astheoretical support, and uses FEM simulation method set up composite’s laminated plate3Dsimulation model based on structural characteristics of composite.Predicting the deformation law of composite in curing deformation, this paper usesANSYS and combines with Finite element analysis of thermal deformation theory to solvetemperature distribution of composite, and gets temperature data of composite nodes. Thentemperature data is put on structure deformation analysis of composite, so it can be achievedfor FEM simulation deformation prediction of composite in autoclave molding.After predicting the deformation of composite sucessfully, basing on the deformationresult, this paper puts forward profile compensation algorithm. In detail, after FEM simulationanalysis, the deformations are extracted on all nodes of composite lower surface alongcoordinate system three directions. Then a new fitting die’s profile can be gained using thereverse deformation. And this method can improve composite production quality.
