Compact spinning technology, DevEL oped on the basis of the traditional ring spinning technology get the attention of people in the industry, due to the better quality of yarn, products have been recognized by the market, it get rapid devEL opment in our country. Two main types of compact spinning system is pneumatic compact spinning system and mechanical compact spinning system, the domestic research is more on the application and principle of pneumatic compact spinning system than the mechanical compact spinning system. The existing research on RoCoS is rEL ativEL y small, are mainly on the yarn quality improvement after the application of RoCoS on their own product, lacking of comparability between different manufacturers or materials. This article give a systematic research on the compact spinning device RoCoS on raw material, yarn count and spinning process。 The research is mainly divided into four parts.(1) Study on the improvement of yarn quality.For the case of common product types and processes in the market, the materials of the research are carded cotton rove, combed cotton rove, polyester/viscose65/35blended. For better comparison of yarns, they are span on the same spindle at similar environment on the DHU X-01test spinning frame. After RoCoS modification to spinning frame, yarn quality improved much, including reduced hairiness, higher breaking strength, better yarn evenness, less thinness and thickness, but more neps. The most significant change about the yarn quality is about hairiness, so in this article, the application of RoCoS on material, yarn count and spinning technology is mainly on better hairiness, including other index. (2) The research on material applicability of RoCoS.Carded cotton, combed cotton and polyester/viscose65/35blended rove are span to40s yarn, after comparison of the change of yarn quality, it shows that the degree of yarn quality improvement of carded cotton is most significant, more about combed yarn, which is more about blended yarn. RoCoS is better suited to the material with higher short fiber content, also is the condensing effect.(3) The study on yarn count applicability of RoCoS.20-45s carded cotton yarns,32-60s combed cotton yarns and32-60s yarns are span differently, the result is similar, it shows that finer yarn, higher degree of yarn quality improvement, to some extent, the change will decrease, the most suitable yarn count for carded yarn is40s, the combed yarn is50s, and the count for blended yarn is50s. RoCoS are more suit to the the fine yarn.(4) The Research on spinning craft applicability for RoCoS.It shows that the the most significant influence factor is twist coefficient, the gauge of jaw is the second influence factor, finally, the back draft ratio is the least influence factor. As the increase of twist coefficient increase, yarn is less hairiness, higher tenacity and better evenness. Finally suitable craft for different material is draw. By contrast of most suitable craft of spinning compact yarns, less twist coefficient is needed for material with less short fiber.
