| MPUE was a new kind of elastomer materials. Its properties were betweenpolyurethane elastomer and polyurethane foam. MPUE had many excellentproperties such as good impact resistance, good abrasive resistance and gooddamping property. So it was often used as damping materials. But it was not perfectbecause the damping temperature range was too narrow. In this article several wayswere taken to widen its damping temperature range.First,polyurethane elastomer was prepared by prepolymer process with mixedpolyols. In order to increase damping property, polyol-218and PTMG were usedtogether. During the process two catalyst agents was used to control the speed offoaming and chain extension. Foam stabilizer was used to adjust the size of bubblesand density was controlled by the amount of foam agent. The results showed thattensile strength of modified MPUE was raised to6.4MPa, and thermo-decomposingtemperature rose a little, also effective damping area rose2℃.Then, in the same way polyether TEP-330N was taken into the PU chain tomodify the damping property. The results showed that tensile strength of modifiedMPUE was raised from4.5MPa to6.4MPa. The DTG curves for decomposition ofpolyurethanes showed two-stage decomposition. And the temperature of largestweight loss for MPUE is decreased from334℃and406℃to300℃and389℃.Also effective damping area rose6℃.Third, branched chain was synthesized with PTMG, TDI, N-butanol and TMP.And then MPUE was grafted with the branched chain. The results showed that tensilestrength of modified MPUE was raised from4.5MPa to6.4MPa. The DTG curvesfor decomposition of polyurethanes showed two-stage decomposition. And thetemperature of largest weight loss for MPUE was changed from334℃and406℃to 308℃and418℃. Also effective damping area rose13℃.Finally, branched chain was synthesized with polyester polyol-218, TDI,N-butanol and TMP. And then MPUE was grafted with the branched chain. Theresults showed that tensile strength of modified MPUE was raised from4.5MPa to5.5MPa. The DTG curves for decomposition of polyurethanes showed three-stagedecomposition. And the temperature of largest weight loss for MPUE was317℃and411℃. But the effective damping area became smaller. |
