Research On EOR Technology Of Hydraulic Fracturing For Coalbed Methane

Coalbed methane belongs to unconventional natural gas，which is both generated andstored in coal bed. In China, it is the most reliable alternative energy atfer coal, petroleum andnatural gas. Besides, developing coalbed methane can help prevent gas explosion andsomehow protect environment.Becausc of strong tectonic movements, coalbed methane in China usually comes withlow saturation, low permeability, low pressure, and seveie heterogeneity. Hydraulic fractuirngis the major way in improving deliverability of these wells*But on the other hand, thistechnology can birng harm to the reservoir, no mention problems about flowback, fracturedistirbution, and rfac lfuid sand-carrying ability.Based on the study of reservoir character, mechanics of accumulation, migration, andgeneration, author ifgured out the announcements of fractuirng about coalbed methane. First,author found out the rfacture distirbution though earth stress and Iitho-mechanics study. Then，the best rfacture fluid was chosen through performance evaluation. Test showed this rfacturefluid conduct great rheological property，sand-canying ability, gel breaking capacity, and flowback ability. Moreover, for th’ere s little residue atfer gel breaking, reservoir can barely getany harm from fractuirng. Then, author compared two kinds of quartz with different diameteras proppant and optimized many operating parameter like prepad quantity, sand quantity, ratioof sand and liquid deliverability capacity. At last，this fracture fluid was employed in xx wellof Wuning basin. Result shows fractuirng design is reasonable, production is great so thisarticle has achieved its anticipation.
