Natural rubber, as a kind of biosynthetic and renewable resource, is widely used in our daily life, such as medical pipe, rubber gloves and condom for its excellent comprehensive performance. However, the natural rubber has poor performances on solvent resistance, oxidation resistance, thermostability and UV resistance, for its non-polar structure and unstable C=C bond. Moreover, protein is contained in natural rubber as a main ingredient, which would increase moisture absorption and cause mildew. These shortcomings limited the applications of natural rubber in many fields. In this article, oxidation chitosan, sericin and silicone were used to modify the natural rubber latex and endowed the modification films with lower water soluble protein, better anti-aging property, lower surface stickiness and with antibacterial property.Chitosan has a good ability of seizing protein, but it is insoluble in latex solvents. So periodate was used to oxidize chitosan and then prepared a kind of soluble oxidation chitosan. This kind of oxidation chitosan was used to modify the latex and prepared the modification films with45.71μg/g water soluble protein when added1%of the oxidation chitosan. And then silk sericin was used to modify the natural rubber latex with its good antioxidant, anti-aging and moisturizing benefits. The results showed that the solvent resistance, anti-aging, surface morphology of the modified films were improved and water soluble protein was decreased. The silicone was used to modify the films with its good physiological, anticoagulant and antithrobotic properties. The modification films have been endowed with better aging resistance, solvent resistance, and lower surface coefficient of friction and viscosity. The application of films products could be broaden by these modification methods.
