The occurrences of mine fire affect safety produce of mine seriously. It not only burn outlarge amount of coal resource, but also produce the poisonous and harmful gas, which willinfluence the life safety of people who work underground. What’s more, the occurrences of firemay cause gas explosion and other coal accidents, bringing about huge economic losses. Firescaused by coal spontaneous combustion is in90%proportion to the total of mine fires. Therefore,major coal producing countries make a deep study about coal spontaneous combustion. With thedevelopment of coal mining technology, control technology and new materials of coalspontaneous combustion also develop more quickly. Sealing technology is the main measure toprevent coal spontaneous combustion. All kinds of plugging materials have been widely applied.The paper researches foaming rate, burning properties and produce gases of a solid foamsealing material. By making experiments, the paper confirms that when the proportion of Amaterial and B material is1to1.3, foaming ratio will reach maximum. Coal mine also can usethe proportion ratio to save raw material and cost. Meanwhile, the paper also makes anexperiment about burning features of this kind foaming material and knows that thematerial is not suitable for sealing under direct contact temperature fire source,butshould distant some distance external away fire source for sealing. This thesis paper alsomakes an analysis of gas components of this kind foam in the course of solidification. It comesto a conclusion that the gas components only contain a small amount of carbon dioxide andmethane in addition to nitrogen, oxygen and the gas is not harmful to people who workunderground. In the course of combustion, the gas components also include a small amount ofcarbon monoxide, ethane and ethylene and other toxic and harmful gas besides oxygen, nitrogen,carbon dioxide and methane. The research in this paper provides theoretical basis for fieldapplication to use this rapid sealing material.
