With the rapid development of the mechanized excavation technology, dustconcentration gradually increase in heading face and impact on coal mine safetyobviously. In order to ensure that the workers’ safety, therefore, it is important that takeeffective measures to control dust in heading face. The paper analyze the mechanism of dust production in heading face and theprinciple of air curtain control dust, then design structure of dust-collecting anddedusting system with air curtain in heading face. In order to verify dust control effectof the system, simulated the air path lines and dust particle tracks in practice bycomputational fluid dynamics software FLUENT, which the situation of boring machineinstall the dust-collecting and dedusting system. However,in order to achieve optimaleffect of dust control system, path lines of the air-curtain fan surface and tracks of dustparticle were simulated by using FLUENT computational fluid dynamics software in thecondition that the speed of fan, the diameter and outlet pressure of dedusting duct wereall mutative. The law of fan speed and the diameter and outlet pressure of dedusting ductwere obtained, which affect the whole system on dust-collecting and dedusting. Theresults show that the system has the same transformation trend: dedusting capacity slopeis firstly positive, then negative when fan speed or outlet pressure increase singly, andenlarge dedusting duct diameter could achieve an excellent dust collecting capacity inthe heading face. The law would play a guiding role on the dust control optimization ofdust-collecting and dedusting system with air curtain.
