MK97-002type plow bit are used in the newly imported plow planer,in the usingprocess,this type plow bit are usually encountered with the phenomenons of Weldfracture and Hard alloy head off,which directly influence the working reliability of theplow planer, the production of working face and the economic benefits of the CoalProduction.In order to make clear the causes to the damage of MK97-002type plow bit,to reduce the loss of plow bit,and to solve the adaptability of this type plow bit fordifferent hardness(use sturdiness coefficient f said) coalbed,the paper study thestrength and life features of MK97-002type plow bit under different planing depths.asolid model simulation method of the plow bit cutting coal seam process is presented inthe paper. A solid model of the plow bit is established by using a flexible body material,a constitutive model of coal seam is constructed according to meshless smooth particledynamics SPH theory,isotropic hardening theory and association flow rule, and in theLS-DYNA sofaware,the stress changes and its statistical data of the joint between bladeand carbide head are obtained through planing process simulation in three planingdepths of the weak joint. The fatigue life of the plow bit is predicted with a fatigueaccumulating damage model built by improvement of rain-flow, linear Miner. Simulatedresults show that the stress of the plow bit increases with its planing depth increases, thestrength is close to the allowable value and the margin is very small; the plow bit’scumulative damage grows,effective working time reduces, fatigue life downs anddamage aggravates as planing depth increases; for the coalbed of its f=5, the biggeststress of plow bit is305MPa, its stress is close to the limit stress of the weld material,and meets the required strength, So this plow bit is suitable for cutting coalbed of itsf is less than5, and its damage is caused by fatigue damage. these conclusions accordwith practice.
